Dr Fawaz Alkhateeb is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Kuwait International Law School (KILAW). He joined the Criminal Department in 2021. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Kuwait University (2009) and obtained a master’s degree in law from the University of Manchester, UK, in 2012. He obtained his doctorate in financial crime from Durham University’s Law School, UK, in 2021. He was a co-convener of the Institute of Commercial and Corporate Law at Durham University’s Law School from 2018 to 2020. He has been a member of the board of directors of the Kuwait Institute for Advocacy and Legal Studies at the Bar (Kuwaiti Lawyers Association) from 2020 to date. Alkhateeb is interested in researching financial and corporate crime from both a theoretical and a practical perspective, applying the practical aspects of his experience as an international lawyer and acting as arbitrator with over twelve years of experience in the research field. Alkhateeb was previously a teaching assistant at KILAW from 2014 to 2015.
