A concluding ceremony of the “Legal Clinic” course, which is supervised by Dr. Jasim Bshara

The Competitions and Student Development Department is continuously keen to conclude the School’s practical courses in the best manner that would match the efforts exerted by faculty members. Based on this strategy adopted by the Department and its belief in the importance of linking the practical aspect of study with the theoretical aspect, a concluding ceremony of the “Legal Clinic” course, which is supervised by Dr. Jasim Bshara, has been held in the presence of a representative of the Ministry of Interior from the Environmental Police department Colonel Hussein Al-Ajmi, and the representative of the General Environment Authority Mr. Abdullah Al-Zaidan (Director of the Department of Conservation of Biodiversity and Wildlife) as well as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Bader Al-Khalefah, the School’s President / Dean Prof. Mohammad Al-Moqatei, assistant deans, faculty members and students of the “Legal Clinic” course.

The ceremony started with a welcoming speech by the course supervisor, in which he stated that students have been exposed to the practical aspect of the Environment Code – 8th Chapter – and therefore; students are in the process of preparing a study and comments regarding this code, which shall be submitted to the General Environment Authority within a month and a half. The School’s Dean, Prof. Mohammad Al Moqatei, delivered his speech, followed by a short film describing the journey of the students throughout the course through field trips and visiting lecturers as well as the trip organized in cooperation with the General Environment Authority to the camps in (Kabd), in order to observe the violations by campers in this area. This was all conducted in order to like the theoretical aspect of study with the practical aspect and involving students in professional field.

This remarkable achievement, which was done by the students of the course during the entire semester, was based on the new mechanism of the “Legal Clinic” course, which aims to studying life-related laws and enabling students to adjust these laws in accordance with the community’s needs.

 In the end,

On behalf of Kuwait International Law School, we extend our thanks to Dr. Jasim Bshara, KILAW’s faculty member, for his efforts toward the success of this course.
