The State of Kuwait’s strategy for dealing with industrial hazardous waste

Abstract

Industrial hazardous wastes are residues that are solid, liquid, gas or radioactive that are simulated with the environment, which leads to a negative change in them that affects the water, soil and air, which necessitated their circulation in particular and specific methods and facilities for disposal to comply with the provisions of the Basel Convention. Kuwait, being an industrial country with the existence of this type of waste, has pushed the Environment Public Authority through forming working committees and establishing partnerships to control it and deal with it in ways that are safe for the environment. Key words: strategy, Kuwait, hazardous industrial waste The problem of the research: The question that arises in this context, has Kuwait succeeded in setting up legislations and imposing specific measures that protect the environment and ensure optimal handling of this type of waste? Research methodology: To take note of the various aspects of the research, we adopted a methodology that relies mainly on the use of the descriptive analytical approach used in monitoring the phenomenon of hazardous industrial waste and how Kuwait deals with it with the analysis of procedures and executive regulations for the year 2014 or 2017 approved in the process of transporting, unloading or storing it by preparing it either for burning or burial. The latter was able to assess the success of the latter in dealing with this type of waste. The importance and objectives of the research: The importance of our approach to this topic lies in highlighting a negative perpetrator of the investment process, especially what relates to the industry in particular and its negative residues that harm the environment in a significant way that will reflect over time on human health and everything that is alive, while we aim to take note of ways to address The problem of solid industrial waste, especially because of its risks if it is not handled with caution, professionalism, high accuracy, and analyzing the strengths and weaknesses in the mechanisms for dealing with this risk in order to assess it and try to fill the gaps. Research structure: To further elaborate on the subject, the following study structure has been defined Conceptual framework for hazardous industrial waste - The methods used to transport, discharge and store hazardous industrial waste in accordance with the Basel Convention and the attached protocol - The mechanisms approved by the State of Kuwait in dealing with this type of waste - Evaluating its success and the difficulties it faces
