Abstract

Interest in the environment is growing day by day as it is the environment in which humans and other organisms live and therefore must be suitable for the lives of these organisms and qualified for it, but the misuse of environmental resources has caused many problems that have affected its various elements of water, air and soil, It has been hit by many forms of pollution, especially after the tremendous technological development in various fields, particularly industrial ones, which led to the emergence of many phenomena that were the product of the wrong activities of man, including the problem of global warming, the problem of acid rain, climate change and extinction, Desertification and other problems that have become the subject of attention at the national and international level, so Omani legislation has had its role in formulating a legislative policy aimed at protecting the environment and trying to reduce violations and wrong uses that threaten the environment, where they represent mostly environmental crimes, and one of the most important Ways to combat these violations, which constitute crimes, the role of the Omani legislator in the formulation of criminal policy was to identify certain safeguards to be followed, and to abide by them before any activity that may endanger the environment, and sometimes reach a policy
